Hero Group 3 Wheelers in India Soon

Hero Honda has almost split now and Hero group is continuing the business as it has been and also looking for avenues of expanding into more products. Recently there was news of Hero Group working on 400 CC Diesel Engine. Now as per information from some vendor, Hero group is planning to enter the 3-wheeler space in India. In India, Bajaj, TVS and Piaggio are the existing players in this business. At present, the larger share of the 3 Wheeler people and goods carrier is occupied by Bajaj and Piaggio as these are two old players while TVS launched its 3 Wheelers in 2008 only. Hero Honda has a 150 CC & 225 CC engines which powers bikes of Hero Honda, the same single cylinder air-cooled petrol engine maybe to power the 3 wheeler with some modifications to make it appropriate for the 3 Wheeled people carrier. Eventually, Hero Group will also venture into 3 Wheeler goods carrier as well.

2011 Vauxhall Antara Facelift Prices Start Under �20k in the UK

Following the reveal of its Opel counterpart in mainland Europe, Vauxhall has released pricing and specifications on the UK market Antara facelift, which boasts a barely noticeable makeover and a refreshed engine lineup. Prices for the updated SUV now start from �19,995 for the 2.2 CDTi (163PS) Exclusiv front-wheel drive model, which according to Vauxhall, represents a saving of �2,835 over the outgoing base version.

On the outside, styling changes for the 2011 Antara include the updated front grille with the new Griffin logo, enhanced by fog lights finished with chrome bezels on SE models, new 19-inch alloy wheels and modified rear lights.

Inside, the new Antara's cabin features a revised centre console with extra storage and higher-quality materials, in addition to improved instrument graphics and better interior lighting.

The 2011 model's revised Euro-5 compliant engine line-up includes a newly-developed 2.2-liter CDTI turbodiesel in two states of tune with 163HP or 184HP. The 163HP version is available in front-wheel drive with a six-speed manual transmission only or all-wheel drive hooked up to either a manual or six-speed auto gearbox. The more potent 184HP variant also offers a choice of manual or automatic transmissions, and comes with all-wheel drive as standard. All transmissions have been revised to improve efficiency.

The Vauxhall Antara will not be offered in the UK with the revised 170HP 2.4-liter gasoline engine of its Opel sibling.

GM Europe's engineers have also re-worked the SUV's chassis with revised spring and damper settings.

Finally, Vauxhall has improved safety and comfort features with the addition of an electric parking brake, a Hill Assist System as well as a "shift-up" fuel economy indicator on all models.

"At less than �20k, the new Antara is set to be highly competitive in today's SUV market," said Peter Hope, Vauxhall's Marketing Director. "Its lower emissions, higher output diesel engines and refreshed design will offer renewed appeal to both retail and fleet customers."

News: Mercury Update

It's official. Ford has announced that it will phase out Mercury by the end of the year. I'm putting on my sad face now. If only they had made a hip street Mercury like the one pictured above.

Dolphin- The Bigger Nano

After the launch of Nano Eco model, Tata is going to launch a slightly bigger model codenamed Dolphin. From the rumors we can expect that the car will be available in mid 2011.

New car is positioning between the Nano and Indica Vista at a price tag of Rs 3 Lakh. The bigger Nano is believed to be powered by an 800 cc to 1 litre engine.

The compact segment is one place where Tata Motors had not made its presence felt. Now, with the launch of the new car it will excel in that segment too. This new compact car has a big role to play for Tata India as, compact segment is one place where Tata Motors had not made its presence felt.

Compact car will get more rural customers who want cars which are durable, long lasting and have a lower cost of operation. Tata's engineers have to work hard to make this a success as car like Nano and vista fail to make a huge impact.

BMW 5 Series Launching In India By April 30th

BMW is going to launch its New 5-Series (F10) in India which has been already launched in Europe. The new saloon will be available in the Indian market by April 30th.

Actually, it is expected to launch by the end of August. The launch of Mercedes E-class make them to think about such a move. With its all-new 5 series, BMW is expected to win the market share in this segment of the luxury car market.

Jakarta - Pasar otomatif dunia akan �serempak ambruk� pada 2009 karena didera krisis likuiditas dan tekanan krisis ekonomi secara umum, demikian riset dari sebuah lembaga pemberi referensi paling berpengaruh di dunia, JD Power and Associates seperti dikutip Reuters, Jumat.

Lembaga yang berpusat di Detroit, AS ini memperkirakan, penjualan kendaraan ringan akan jatuh hingga 13,2 juta unit pada 2009 setelah selama tahun ini hanya bisa menjual 13,6 juta unit.

JD Power menilai pemulihan pasar yang sesungguhnya akan memakan waktu lebih dari 18 bulan atau 1,5 tahun.

�Setelah kekuatan penjualan industri otomotif global menurun di sepanjang 2008, maka pada 2009 nanti industri ini akan mengalami kejatuhan secara serempak,� kata Jeff Schuster, direktur eksekutif bidang penakaran industri otomotif dari JD Power.

Sepanjang dampak krisis keuangan terhadap pasar negara maju lebih keras ketimbang terhadap pasar ekonomi berkembang, maka tak ada satu negara atau kawasan pun yang benar-benar kebal dari malapetaka (ekonomi) ini, tambah Schuster.
