Scion FR-S Concept, which is an acronym for the Front-engine, rear wheel drive, sport, Scion is the definition of a true rear-wheel-drive sports car with an exciting style, exceptionally well-balanced performance and handling, flexible, utility , and surprising, MPG.

2011 Scion FR-S

"Scion is always to try new things," said Jack Hollis, Scion vice president. "The brand is iconic with the xB, with TC, adrenaline, and innovative with the iQ. FR-S again to expand the brand into a new dimension to this, I know it is really intended."

The Scion FR-S is a true "Scion", born in a long history of performance of Toyota cars and motor sport. The sports coupe is more inspired by the Corolla AE86 of generation, better known as Hachi Roku, which means "8-6" in Japanese. The front engine, rear drive coupe is light and well balanced, which is a good choice for driving enthusiasts.

Inspired by the AE86, the FR-S is built around the central goal of achieving a "pure equilibrium," which begins with the strategic placement of a 2.0-liter boxer engine of the motor at the front, rear wheel drive configuration. The compact size of engine and power train allows the shaped Scion FR-S "to be mounted lower and farther back, giving the car a low center of gravity and weight to the momentum back.

The naturally aspirated engine Scion FR-S is innovative, the first boxer to enter the injection system, Toyota's D4-S, which uses direct injection and port, resulting in more power and torque over the entire range MPG without sacrificing power.

The four planes can be mated with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. The manual deals quickly and accurately with a short range, while the automatic transmission shifts with aggressive sports that begin in mounted paddles. Power is distributed efficiently through a limited slip differential.

The idea of ??"pure equilibrium" is still performed by the Scion FR-S Concept lightweight and short wheelbase. This combination allows the car to be fast and agile in and out of any corner, with a dynamic management of trust and stability.

"Akio Toyoda said he will bring the spirit of fun to drive, back to Toyota," said Hollis. "I know the concept CFR s Scion is one of the ways he plans to achieve this goal."

A hard look of Scion FR-S Concept is a good indicator of its internal strength. Threatening proportions in the concept of giving him a dominant attitude that bleed performance. Inspired by the profile reveals Toyota 2000GT Hood line, which is very elegant and low, which allows for the architecture Boxer.

The low rate continues to exaggerate facial threatening FR-S ", which consists of clean lines, a wide mouth and angular headlights that include bright LED clusters.

The solid roof panel is elegant, light and stiff, grooved, with an aerodynamic shape that channels the air properly.

The rear bumper sits low and wide, with a less extensive around the dual exhausts and contribute to the excellent aerodynamics. LEDs light up both modern and bold taillamps "Scion" logo.
