2012 Cadillac CTS Review

Cadillac unveiled the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe, the latest and most dramatic series of brand new designs to reach production. Sentenced to arrive in dealerships in spring 2010 Cadillac, Cadillac CTS Coupe is a luxury sports coupe designed to be the heart of revised range of the brand.

"Cadillac CTS Coupe is a new focal point of the Cadillac, as well as free design and technical features," says Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager. "The intention is to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts."

Cup join the Cadillac CTS Sport Sedan, the 556 horsepower (415 kW) and CTS-V CTS Sport Wagon as the new basis for the Cadillac. A high performance V-Series coupe version will also be published in 2010.

The design of the Cadillac CTS Coupe is almost like the prototype was unveiled at the Detroit Auto North America in 2008.

 

Coupe is a classic 2 +2 layout, enhanced with advanced technologies, such as rear-view camera system and a performance-oriented suspension system connected to a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Design

Cadillac CTS Coupe Cadillac increased the proposal within the Design Studio, where the designers have developed and evolved the art and design of the brand philosophy of science.

The coupe has the same wheelbase as the CTS, but an overall height which is about two inches (51 mm) lower and an overall length that is two inches (51 mm) shorter.

Classic hardtop without conventional B-pillar

Touch-pad operation for doors eliminates the need for conventional door handles, creating a technical own profile

At first glance, the shape of the Cadillac CTS Coupe is refreshingly simple, but enhanced with carved details. Distinctive and original signature Cadillac indices are combined with hand-sculpted, skillfully articulating the confidence of the chassis. For example, the rear fenders have been deliberately drawn by hand in Cadillac visual design studies to recognize the rear-drive transmission. The profile of action, along with the vertical taillights and rear axle are designed Cadillac delivered to the court to get more visually insurance segment.

Performance

Cadillac Cadillac CTS Coupe extends new performance references. Cadillac CTS Coupe's standard powertrain consists of a housing manual 3.6L direct injection V-6 and six-speed. The direct injection technology provides fuel more precisely to increase the combustion efficiency, thus more power while maintaining fuel economy and low emissions - including a 25 percent drop in emissions of hydrocarbons at cold start.

DI 3.6 liter engine is rated at 304 hp (227 kW) and fuel economy EPA-estimated 27 mpg on the highway. It also runs on less expensive regular unleaded gasoline.

 

Transmission performance will be delivered through the platform, which offers sports car performance without penalty. The equipment includes an independent short / long arm (SLA) front suspension, hydraulic control arm bushings front and multi-link rear suspension features a fully insulated frame. There is also a four-wheel disc brakes performance, control premium and limited slip differential.

Two levels of suspension settings are available: Performance Package, 18-inch wheels and all-season tires (available in RWD and AWD) and summer tires, Performance Package, 19-inch wheels and tires and a higher capacity road owner . StabiliTrak, an advanced electronic chassis control system is standard.

Power 304 (227 kW) 3.6L V-6 with direct injection is standard equipped with a six-speed manual transmission with double clutch flywheel and revised offers a better clutch pedal feel and improved engine isolation. 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control (and steering wheel shift buttons available) is optional.

Technology

Cadillac CTS Coupe combines luxury with a hand of modern driver-oriented interior that supports high-performance capabilities of the car. The interior includes hand-stitched details that covers the door, the storage center console and the trim panel. 14 position adjustable Recaro sports seats, formerly available only in Cadillac V-Series model will be available on all Cadillac CTS Coupe as an option.

As with other models of Cadillac, Cadillac CTS Coupe comes standard with OnStar with navigation Turn-by-Turn, the first factory-installed, fully integrated GPS navigation system from OnStar.
