Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 1.3-liter, R2 , 232-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.
The 2009 RX-8 is freshened for 2009.
