Batmobile Sells For 120k
The iconic Batmobile from the cult 1960s show Batman has been sold for 120000 at auction in London.
The Lincoln Futura was designed in 1955 by a division of the Ford Motor Company. It was built entirely by hand in Italy, and the concept car cost 127,000 to make but never made it into production.
US car customiser George Barris apparently bought the car from the manufacturers for just 51p. Then when producers from the Batman show approached him for a futuristic vehicle, it became the Batmobile.
The Batmobile featured in a collection of some of the world's finest cars for sale at auction house Coys as well as a Reliant Regal from Only Fools And Horses, that fetched 44,000.
