The new V4 will feature an incredibly compact front cylinder head design, with just one camshaft operating all eight valves in that head, while the rear cylinder head is a tech-fest incorporating the company's latest variable-cylinder and variable valve technology. It all comes in the desire to cut precious milimeters from the engine's length and height to create a tightly packaged machine.
The Honda VFR 1200 is said to feature a 1200-cc engine with selectable cylinder deactivation system. This feature will reduce fuel consumption by halting fuel supply to specific cylinders under low load conditions, such as when running at a constant speed on a highway.

Usually the front and rear banks of a V4 engine are mirror images of one another - a design that simplifies production and saves cost. The new V4 does exactly the same thing inside its front cylinder head, but with two cylinders, eight valves and a six lobe camshaft.

The Opel Meriva Concept takes flexibility to new heights with its innovative FlexDoors system, which consists of rear-hinged rear doors that swing open toward the back of the car. As the B-pillars have been purposely retained for passive security reasons, the Meriva Concept's front and rear doors can also be opened independently of each other. Other rear-hinged rear doors already on the market can only be opened after the front door has been opened.

The FlexDoors system enhances comfort and functionality, as the highest point of the roof - just behind the B-pillars - is exactly where the passengers enter and exit the vehicle. This architecture enabled designers to create a very dynamic and unique silhouette, with the arched roof line sloping down to the C-pillars.

Especially eye-catching is the dynamic "wave" in the window line just behind the B-pillars, which provides an excellent all-round view for rear passengers, particularly for children. The body boasts the distinctive "blade" bodyside form, which was a design element of the GTC Coup� and Flextreme. Another feature is the U-shaped windshield, which stretches up and back over the rear passengers' heads - echoing the Astra GTC's panorama windshield. The slim A-pillars and windshield pulled far down ensure plenty of light and a spacious interior atmosphere. Both elements contribute to the outstanding all-round visibility for the occupants.

Marque Hummer already have a torrid time recently with the slump in U.S. sales this year led to a strategic review which saw the closure of four assembly plants.

In an attempt to reverse declining sales, GM has released images of the upcoming limited edition H2 "Black Chrome" - the annual H2 special for 2009. With blackened chrome shadow shiny chrome accents replace the standard models, the "Black Chrome" Edition has a more mysterious "stealth-like" feel to it. The new black chrome effect can be found on areas such as grille, fuel door and 21-inch wheels of the SUV.


The Black Chrome Limited Edition will be available in three colors, but only the Sedona Metallic paint scheme (pictured) will be exclusive to the Black Chrome version of the H2, complete with matching interior. Only 1,300 units will be available worldwide.
